Project Assistant

Focus is looking to expand our team by adding a Project Assistant. The Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting the implementation team, as well as the Director of Implementation, in various project related tasks. The ideal candidate should have a passion for educational software and technology with an interest in project management, whose long-term goal would be to move into a Project Manager position. As the Project Assistant, you will be expected to work independently, as well as alongside the Director of Implementation, and must be able to work well under pressure to handle a variety of tasks and confidential matters with discretion. 

 

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least two years of professional experience in a technology-related, project management or Educational setting 
  • Comfortable with rapidly updating project management software systems
  • Strong organization skills that reflect the ability to prioritize multiple project tasks with excellent attention to detail 
  • Versatility with Office and Mac computers and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
  • A self-starter with insight into company objectives, product, and project’s needs, implementing strategies, taking on extra tasks, etc. to meet/exceed those objectives and needs, as well as a variety of needs of educators 
  • Demonstrate solid character, integrity, and share our small business ethics
  • Comfortable with simultaneous projects – large, small, and sometimes unplanned – while assisting Director of Implementation 
  • Comfortable going to the necessary lengths to meet quality standards, priorities, and every deadline 
  • Must have strong written/grammatical skills as extensive writing is involved
  • Must have strong oral communication, including informative, persuasive, and colloquial speaking skills
  • Must have strong “people skills” and work well under pressure and strict deadlines
  • Flexibility concerning after-hours communication with Executives and availability to travel on short notice is a must

 Job Duties:

  • Assist in the coordination of software projects for school districts implementing to Focus 
  • Convey updates from conversations/meetings, whether written or oral and coordinates communication in writing to all necessary parties
  • Responsible for minutes of meetings
  • Assist with presentations on the project plan and updates
  • Assist in the coordination of phone conferences and  recording/finalizing notes for the project team
